My Doula Philosophy
Here at Labor With Love we believe that the key to having a happy & healthy pregnancy, delivery, & postpartum period is by being informed and empowered.
Being informed means educating yourself, knowing your rights, equipping yourself with the resources to stay educated, and hiring a doula to assist you in these endeavors.
Being empowered means understanding you possess the knowledge to make decisions for yourself and your baby. It means you are confident in every decision you make. It means you will not be coerced into making a decision that does not fall in line with your ideal birth. As a doula, I assist you in your empowerment & support you in every decision you make.
What is a Doula?
In a dictionary sense, a doula is a non-medical birth support person that offers educational, physical, emotional, & sometimes spiritual support.
I believe a doula is so much more than that. A doula is someone you trust to be with you, support you, nurture you in your most intimate and vulnerable states. They are a vital piece to your journey in bringing your beautiful baby earthside and they are someone you can turn to at every stage of your journey for guidance and support. It is my job as your doula to be what you need in that moment & do so willingly and to the best of my ability. To learn more about my services
